Rosebreasted Grosbeak
We see these guys occasionally during migration time.
We didn't realize that this species was dimorphic (genders colored differently) until we had spent several days trying to figure out what these guys were. After a male showed up, we finally figured out that these "guys" were female Grosbeaks.
As usual in the bird world, the male is much more colorful. Here he shares the sunflower seed feeder with a female Cardinal.
In the fall of 2002, we caught some immature males as they were passing through.
