Rufous Hummingbird

At least we think its a Rufous...

This summer (2009) Jan and Pat's Place relocated. We were elated that in our first winter, we had a winter hummingbird visit. We are still in the process of getting the place bird friendly, but a hummer feeder was one if the first things we put up.

We have some folks associated with gahummer.org that are interested in banding the little guy, so hopefully we'll find out exactly what it is. In the meantime, we are experiencing some of the coldest weather we've had in a while, so we will be making extra effort to keep a thawed feeder available to him/her.
