| Corps Dams on the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River System |
| This system drains a large portion of northwest Georgia and a good portion of Alabama into Mobile Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. And it is a bone of contention between Georgia and Alabama, though the controversy is not as heated as that surrounding the Chattahoochee. Carters Dam is on the Oostanaula River, Allatoona on the Etowa. These two rivers join in Rome, GA, to form the Coosa River. |
